Day 2: Service

and by service, I mean menial service. pathetic I know. but still it was something more out of the ordinary of my lethargic life of watching TV, interneting, and exercising -- so please bear with me. I cut some pictures down to size for my mom who needed them for a church project. Then when I saw that the letters she had purchased were probably not going to show up, I suggested that she go to my sisters & see what scrapbook supplies she had. Mom said that the activity was in an hour & she would not have time to go to Lisa's to pick some up. I volunteered to go. I called, made the arrangements, picked them up, and dropped them off at the church where mom was setting up.

On my way home I decided I needed to do something else for someone else. I got the ingredients for cupcakes & set out on a baking mission. Part way through my baking mission I decided to make dinner for the parents. So I am baking cupcakes, and mixing blueberry pancakes all at the same time. After dinner (they were delicious by the way) I frosted the cupcakes & set out on deliveries. If you lived w/in 5 miles of me, you got some. With deliveries came visits. This is when service reversed itself. I don't get out much these days (being unemployed & seeing my savings disappear is not fun) so the talking was much more for me, than it probably was for those I unannouncedly gave cupcakes to. but all in all a good night.

now i need to think of a better project of the day for tomorrow. Any suggestions?
I took pictures of the cupcakes & pancakes, but I need to get this posted before the clock strikes twelve.

"Stay right where you are. Distant fields always look greener, but opportunity lies right where you are. Take advantage of every opportunity of service." Robert Collier
